Design of automated ventilation control system for hotel
Our engineering company developed design of automated ventilation control system ACS for hotel.

Description of the algorithm
Supply air system without the heat exchanger.
The operation of the ventilation unit is performed in 2 modes:
manual and automatic.
Prior to switching on the ventilation unit in any of the modes it is required to make sure that:
a) the switcher is on and the main board is fed with power (alarm lamps lit);
b) the security automatics of the engines and control chains are set on "on" position;
c) the security switchers of the engines are set on "on" position;
Operation of the ventilation unit in manual mode.
The manual mode provides the launch of a air supply ventilator.
For the switching on of the M1 engine of ventilator of the ventilation unit in the manual mode it is required to switch the key "Man-Off-Auto" to the position "Man" and press button "Start" on the front panel. With this a lamp is lit "Operation M1", the Y1 inlet choke flap is opened and the engine of the ventilator is launched.
For the switching off the engine M1 of the inlet ventilator it is required to press the button "Stop M1" on the front panel. With this the lamp "Operation M1" is off, the Y1 inlet choke flap is closed and the engine of the ventilator M1 is stopped.
In the manual mode the controller is off.
Operation of the ventilation unit in automatic mode.
For the switching on of the ventilation unit in the automatic mode it is required to change the position of the "Man-Off-Auto" key to the position "Auto" on the front panel and to switch on the unit from the control operator panel.
Further the switching on of the ventilation unit is done on signals made from the controller.
When receiving the signal for switching on from the controller the Y1 choke flaps is opened and the M1 engine is launched. The ventilator is switched on. With this the lamp "Operation M1" lamp lit.
Park function.
To switch the ventilation unit to the park function mode (no need to operating the ventilation unit e.g. in the night time) in the automatic mode it is required to switch off the ventilation unit from the controller or from the control operator panel of the monitoring system. With this the switchers "Man-Off-Auto" shall be in the position "Auto".
Emergency situations and preventive measures.
To prevent the emergency situations in the process of operation of the ventilation unit the following measures were provided.
Control of the operation of the engine.
The sensor and relay of the pressure drop PDS installed on the unit is designed for the purpose of identification of the status of the ventilator's operation. In case of missing drop on the ventilator an emergency lamp of the engine and the "General emergency" on the front panel lits and the unit is switched off.
Fire protection.
When receiving the "Fire" signal from the fire alarm unit in any of the modes the engine of the ventilator is stopped, choke flap are closed, ventilation unit is switched off. With this the lamp of the ventilator's operation are off and the lamp "General emergency" on the front panel lit.
The protection of the engines, control chains, controller and overload and increased current modules.
To protect the engines, control chains, controllers and the modules protection automatics are applied selected in comply with the design currents of the electrical equipment.
The launch of the system after the emergency break.
in case of the emergency break of the ventilation unit (lamp "General emergency" lits) after that the engines are stopped and the protective measures take place it is required to identify the reasons of such emergency situation and take measures for their elimination. For repeated launch of the ventilation unit it is required to reset the general emergency by pressing the button "General emergency reset" on the front panel. In case the switchers of the operation "Man-Off-Auto" were set in manual mode then after the resetting the general emergency the launch of the ventilation unit shall be done manually by the buttons "Start". In case the switchers of the operation mode "Man-Off-Auto" were set in the automatic mode after the resetting the emergency the ventilation unit shall commence automatically.
Monitoring and dispatching.
In the process of the ventilation unit operation a permanent collection of the signals on status and operation of the ventilation unit as dry contacts and similar values is performed. By receiving and processing this data the controller transmits via a bus to the monitoring system. In the control room this data is displayed onto a monitor of the monitoring operator online. The monitoring operator has the option to transmit controlling signals into the controller and measure the reference value of the controlled parameters from his control panel.
