Manchester buildings

Hello and welcome

This article is an experiment.

It was originally supposed to be a slide show for my black and white images, but it turned into something more: It turned into an exploration of the transition from monochrome to colour and also from the still image to the moving image. It's a theme I need to develop further. All the photos and articleclips are take from my Manchester and Salford archive, plus a few taken at the weekend

Berlin is my home from home in Germany.

At first sight, Berlin and Manchester don’t seem to have much in common. Berlin a bright colourful

Library architecture

I love architecture, old and new and these libraries are each remarkable in their own way. Can you identify them? So let's travel now into the city centre to our first library. Our first library was established in 1653

Railway station and bridge have been compromised by the construction

Know what you think.

Before we enter, I have two important pieces of information: First, there's been a name change. It was: The Museum of Science and Industry now it's: The Science and Industry Museum and the second thing is: in mid-2021, the museum is being renovated. Tunnel ventilation tower

Article i present a 'dawn to dusk' portrait of the wirral waterfront and the liverpool waterfront with a few words about unesco at the end.

Current and future construction projects

Building Boom

Our cycle ride to view construction projects will take us north on Wilmslow Road

along the so-called Oxford Rd corridor and into the heart of Manchester city centre. We'll look at plans for the Toast Rack, visit a new groundscraper and on this site, I'll conjure up an architecturally significant building, constructed in 1911 and needlessly destroyed in 1974
